Description: Defines managed objects for TCP and UDP connections running over Novell IPX networks.

IPNetwork Monitor uses several OIDs from this MIB in network discovery and polling the applicable devices. Start monitoring TCPIPX-MIB with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor.

What Is TCPIPX-MIB?

TCPIPX-MIB is a legacy proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 23) reporting TCP and UDP connection state for connections carried over an IPX network layer (a TCP/IP-over-IPX tunneling gateway scenario). Its TCP-over-IPX connection table records connection state, local/remote address and port, a UDP-over-IPX table records local address/port, and companion 'unspecified' TCP/UDP tables cover connections not yet bound to IPX. As a status MIB it lets an administrator confirm active TCP/UDP sessions tunneled over an IPX network. It is deployed on legacy gateway equipment tunneling TCP/IP over IPX. Engineers can download the TCPIPX-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TCPIPX-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy gateway equipment (TCP/IP over IPX tunneling)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks tcpIpxConnTable to confirm an active TCP session is correctly tunneled over the IPX network layer on legacy gateway equipment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • TCP/UDP connection state over IPX
