What Is CPQRACK-MIB?
CPQRACK-MIB is an HP (formerly Compaq) proprietary enterprise MIB belonging to the Compaq/HP Insight Manager family, focused on rack-mounted server enclosures and blade infrastructure. It exposes data about physical rack topology, enclosure bay/slot occupancy, and blade server power and identification state. The MIB is explicitly a hardware-status tool: it lets administrators check whether individual blades are powered on and monitor the Unit Identification (UID) LED state used to physically locate a blade in a data center. It builds on the broader Compaq/HP enterprise MIB tree and is typically paired with other CPQ MIBs (host, thermal, power) for full server health coverage. It is deployed in data centers running HP ProLiant blade enclosures managed through Insight Manager or SNMP-based rack management consoles. Engineers can download the CPQRACK-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls cpqRackServerBladePowered across all blade slots in an enclosure to build a live power-state map, quickly spotting a blade that unexpectedly powered off. They also read cpqRackServerBladeUIDState to confirm whether a technician has activated the UID beacon before pulling a blade for service, avoiding accidental removal of the wrong unit. This combination is commonly used in scripted health-check tools that alert when a blade's power state changes outside a maintenance window.
