This read-only INTEGER classifies the interconnect fabric type in the enclosure as one of noconnect, network, fibrechannel, sas, infiniband, or pciexpress. Admins use it to know what kind of traffic a given interconnect bay is designed to carry before assuming it is a standard Ethernet uplink. For example, an admin planning a SAS storage expansion checks this OID across all connector bays to find which ones report sas(4) as available interconnect capacity.
