Description: This specifies the type of this instance of temperature sensor.
This value will be one of the following:
other(1) Temperature threshold type could not be determined.
blowout(5) If a blowout(5) temperature sensor reaches its threshold, the fan or fans in the area of the temperature sensor will increase in speed in an attempt to reduce the temperature before a caution or critical threshold is reached.
caution(9) If a caution(9) temperature sensor reaches its threshold, the cpqRackServerTempSensorCondition will be set to degraded(3) and the system will either continue or shutdown depending on the local blade server policy settings.
critical(15) If a critical(15) temperature sensor reaches its threshold, cpqRackServerTempSensorCondition will be set to failed(4) and the blade server will shutdown.
What is cpqRackServerTempSensorType?
This read-only INTEGER (other/blowout/caution/critical) specifies what kind of response a temperature sensor triggers at its threshold, where the MIB describes a blowout-type sensor as increasing fan speed to try to cool the system before a caution or critical sensor trips. Admins use this to understand what will actually happen when a given sensor's threshold is reached, rather than assuming every sensor behaves the same way. For example, seeing a sensor is of type blowout(5) tells an admin that crossing its threshold will first ramp up fans automatically rather than immediately triggering a shutdown.
