Description: MIB for virtual machine and hypervisor integration in Cisco UCS, covering VM adapters, VM-FEX, VLAN/VSAN bindings, and vNIC endpoints for virtualized UCS workloads

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VM-MIB?

CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VM-MIB is a Cisco Systems Inc. proprietary MIB modeling the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) VM management-information package, reporting virtual-machine compute endpoints. Its VM-compute-endpoint table, keyed by instance ID, records distinguished/relative name, class-instance type, compute-endpoint vendor, description, distributed-virtual-switch name, host name, internal ID, logical-server DN, model, name, physical-node DN, status-change timestamp, UUID, and virtualization status, alongside a datacenter table. As a status/inventory MIB it lets a UCS administrator confirm which VMs are running on which physical blade and hypervisor host. It is deployed on Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) platforms. Engineers can download the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) platforms

Monitoring Examples

A UCS administrator checks cucsVmComputeEpHostName and cucsVmComputeEpVStatus to confirm which hypervisor host a specific VM is running on and its current status.
