Category: Domain: WAN, Vendor: Memotec

Description: Manages asynchronous serial interface configuration and statistics on CX Memotec devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CXAsync-MIB?

CXAsync-MIB is a Memotec vendor MIB (legacy RFC1155-SMI/RFC-1212 style, part of the CXProduct-SMI enterprise tree) for asynchronous serial interface configuration on Memotec CX-series statistical multiplexers/PAD devices. Global scalars under cxAsync set the X.25 queue threshold (asyX25TxQThreshold), a PAD identification banner (asyPadIdBanner), and an alarm-enable flag, while asySapTable, indexed by asySapNumber, configures each async PAD service — X.3 profile, NUI and network address, disconnect-request behavior, transmit/receive throughput class and packet size, window sizes, YT/SR timers, and X.25 CUG (closed user group) and reverse-charging options. As an X.25 PAD/async-over-X.25 configuration MIB, it's primarily a provisioning surface rather than a counter-rich statistics MIB, so monitoring it is mainly about confirming per-SAP async/X.25 parameters match intended service profiles. It depends on CXProduct-SMI for shared types (SapIndex, Alias, ThruputClass), and it's deployed on Memotec CX-series async/X.25 access multiplexers, where administrators can download the CXAsync-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CXAsync-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Memotec CX-series statistical multiplexer / X.25 PAD devices

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls asySapTxThruputClass and asySapTxPacketSize per asySapNumber in asySapTable to confirm a given async SAP's X.25 throughput class matches the contracted service level, and an asySapDisconnectRequest value stuck at yes would indicate that SAP is configured to tear down calls rather than pass traffic.

What Can Be Monitored

  • global X.25 queue threshold configuration
  • PAD identification banner
  • per-SAP X.3 profile and NUI/address configuration
  • per-SAP TX/RX throughput class and packet size
  • per-SAP window size and timer configuration
  • X.25 CUG subscription and reverse-charging options
