Description: Manages GPON OLT port provisioning, ONU registration, and fiber plant status for NSCRTV FTTx deployments.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NSCRTV-FTTX-GPON-MIB?

NSCRTV-FTTX-GPON-MIB is a vendor MIB from NSCRTV for Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) equipment, covering OLT port provisioning, ONU (subscriber optical network unit) registration, and the physical fiber plant. It exposes an optical-layer property table for each ONU's PON port alongside provisioning/registration state for ONUs joining the OLT. Its monitoring emphasis is hardware/optical status: the optical transmission property table lets operators track per-ONU laser transmit power, receive signal levels, and related optical parameters to catch a degrading fiber link, failing ONU transceiver, or dirty/broken fiber connector before it causes a subscriber outage. It typically works alongside standard GPON/EPON interface MIBs and IF-MIB for indexing the underlying PON ports. It is deployed by cable/telecom operators running GPON FTTx access networks to manage OLT-to-ONU fiber-plant health and subscriber provisioning. Engineers can download the NSCRTV-FTTX-GPON-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NSCRTV-FTTX-GPON-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • GPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal)
  • GPON ONU (Optical Network Unit)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls gponOnuPonPortOpticalTransmissionPropertyTable for a specific ONU to read its optical transmit/receive power levels; a receive-power reading that has dropped significantly from baseline points to fiber attenuation, a dirty connector, or a failing ONU optical transceiver requiring a truck roll.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ONU optical transmit/receive power
  • PON port optical transmission properties
  • ONU registration/provisioning status
  • fiber plant optical health
