What Is NSCRTV-HFCEMS-PROPERTY-MIB?

NSCRTV-HFCEMS-PROPERTY-MIB is a Chinese cable-industry (NSCRTV) MIB that defines generic analog and discrete property/attribute tables used across the HFCEMS element management system to describe physical plant and node parameters and their alarm thresholds. Rather than being device-specific, it provides a generalized analogPropertyTable/discretePropertyTable framework that other NSCRTV device MIBs (such as the optical amplifier MIB) can populate with their own parameter OIDs, alarm enable flags, and threshold values. Its monitoring focus is squarely on fault/alarm status: it exposes high-high, high, low, and low-low alarm thresholds plus a deadband setting for each analog property, letting an EMS flag out-of-range hardware readings (e.g. power, temperature, voltage) as alarms rather than raw values alone. It is a shared/dependency module used by other NSCRTV HFCEMS device-specific MIBs which reference its property table structure to expose their own monitored parameters. It is deployed as part of the common property/alarm framework across NSCRTV-managed HFC cable network nodes. Monitoring Examples

An EMS would walk analogPropertyTable/analogPropertyEntry, referencing analogParameterOID to identify which underlying device parameter (e.g. an amplifier's temperature or power reading) a given row describes, then compare its current value against analogAlarmHIHI, analogAlarmHI, analogAlarmLO, and analogAlarmLOLO thresholds to determine analogAlarmState. The analogAlarmDeadband object would be used to prevent alarm flapping when a reading hovers near a threshold. discretePropertyTable would similarly be walked for on/off or state-based plant attributes with alarmEnable controlling whether a given property generates alarms at all.
