What Is HPN-ICF-POWER-ETH-EXT-MIB?
HPN-ICF-POWER-ETH-EXT-MIB is an HP/H3C ICF (Comware) enterprise MIB that extends standard Power over Ethernet management with vendor-specific per-port power-budget and PoE power-class objects, for Comware-based switches. It belongs to the PoE/Ethernet-power-management technology area, layering additional detail on top of the standard IETF POWER-ETHERNET-MIB. Its value in hardware status monitoring is direct: it lets an operator track how much power budget is allocated to each port, how much power is actually being drawn, and the negotiated PoE class of the connected powered device, which together reveal PoE controller capacity issues or an overloaded power budget. It explicitly extends the standard POWER-ETHERNET-MIB rather than replacing it. It is typically deployed on HP/H3C Comware access switches delivering PoE to IP phones, wireless access points, and cameras.
