What Is HH3C-ACFP-MIB?

HH3C-ACFP-MIB manages H3C's Auxiliary Control Flow Processing (ACFP) feature, which lets a switch or router ACFP server collect identifying and policy information from connecting client endpoints for traffic classification, access control, or forwarding decisions. It exposes configuration/server-state objects, such as maximum session lifetime and persistent-rules settings, alongside a per-client table that records each client's identity and software/hardware profile. Notably for endpoint visibility, it can report a connected client's hardware version, operating system version, application version, and IP address, effectively giving administrators software/firmware inventory data on devices attached to the network rather than on the H3C device itself. It is an H3C-proprietary feature and does not depend on an external standard MIB, though it interacts with the switch/router's underlying forwarding and ACL infrastructure. It is typically deployed on H3C campus switches or routers used for network access control, BYOD profiling, or client-aware traffic policy enforcement. Engineers can download the HH3C-ACFP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll the hh3cAcfpClientInfoTable, keyed by hh3cAcfpClientID, to see hh3cAcfpClientHwVersion, hh3cAcfpClientOSVersion, and hh3cAcfpClientAppVersion for connected endpoints, alongside hh3cAcfpClientIP to correlate identity with network address. Combined with hh3cAcfpServerMaxLifetime and hh3cAcfpServerCurContextType, this lets an NMS confirm that ACFP client-context entries are being refreshed and aged out as expected. A client reporting an unexpectedly old hh3cAcfpClientOSVersion would flag an endpoint overdue for a software update relative to the network's access policy.
