What Is HPN-ICF-OID-MIB?

HPN-ICF-OID-MIB defines the root OID tree and sub-tree registrations for HP Networking's ICF (Comware-derived) MIB family, providing the namespace under which HP/HPE's Comware-based switch and router MIBs are organized. It contains no instrumented managed objects of its own and exposes no interface, environment, performance, configuration, or fault data directly. It has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status because it is purely a structural OID-namespace definitions module; the actual hardware/software monitoring objects live in the dependent ICF MIBs that register underneath this tree. Essentially all HP/HPE Comware-family (ICF) enterprise MIBs depend on the OID subtree this module establishes as their foundational namespace. It is present as an always-loaded structural dependency on HP/HPE Comware-based networking devices, a lineage shared with H3C, that expose ICF-family enterprise SNMP MIBs, and reviewing the HPN-ICF-OID-MIB MIB itself turns up only namespace registrations rather than pollable data, confirming its purely structural role.

Monitoring Examples

This is a structural root/definitions module with no runtime objects — sample_objects is empty because HPN-ICF-OID-MIB only establishes the HP/Comware ICF enterprise OID subtree rather than instrumented data points. An admin would never poll it directly; it exists so that dependent HP/HPE Comware hardware and software monitoring MIBs resolve their object identifiers under a consistent namespace.
