Description: The PSE policy only applies to the situation that when a new board (PSE) is inserted, and the power is overload. A value of priority(2) means that the power will stop supplying to the low priority PSE. About PSE priority, please refer to hpnicfMainPsePowerPriority. A value of disabled(1) means that the power will stop supplying to the new inserted PSE. The default value of this object is disabled(1).

What is hpnicfPsePolicyMode?

This read-write setting (disabled/priority, default disabled) governs what happens when a newly inserted PSE board causes a power overload: priority(2) cuts power to whichever PSE has the lowest hpnicfMainPsePowerPriority, while disabled(1) instead refuses power to the newly inserted board. An admin adding a new PoE line card to an already-loaded chassis would set priority(2) so low-priority existing PSEs yield instead of the new card failing to power up.
