Description: Manages Cabletron AP3000 wireless access point radio configuration, association tables, and RF statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CTRON-AP3000-MIB?
CTRON-AP3000-MIB is an Enterasys Networks (Cabletron) vendor MIB for the AP3000 wireless access point, providing read-write configuration access to radio, bridging, filtering, and security settings on this early enterprise Wi-Fi access point. It exposes configuration and status objects covering protocol filtering rules (by ISO protocol designator), bridge control over which traffic types (AP management, Ethernet) are subject to filtering, IBSS relay mode settings, and SSH-based security access. Its monitoring value leans toward configuration and access-control status rather than deep radio statistics: enterpriseApFilterProtocolState reveals whether a given protocol filter is active or inactive, apvFilterControlTable tracks which filter policies apply per interface, and apSecuritySsh indicates whether secure management access is enabled, all useful for auditing the AP's security posture and traffic-filtering behavior. It is described as an extension to the base Enterasys AP3000 MIB under the Enterasys enterprise OID, so it depends on and complements that core AP3000 module for full device coverage. It is deployed on Enterasys/Cabletron AP3000 wireless access points in enterprise wireless LAN deployments. Engineers can download the CTRON-AP3000-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CTRON-AP3000-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Enterasys/Cabletron AP3000 wireless access point
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would walk enterpriseApFilterProtocolTable/enterpriseApFilterProtocolEntry to check each enterpriseApFilterProtocolState and confirm expected protocol filters (identified by enterpriseApFilterProtocolISODesignator) are active, and review apvFilterControlTable/apvFilterControlEntry to see which filter policies are bound to the AP's interfaces. Checking apSecuritySsh would confirm whether SSH management access is enabled, an important security posture check for the AP. apvGlobalIBSSRelayMode would be checked when troubleshooting ad-hoc/IBSS client relay behavior on the wireless network.
What Can Be Monitored
- protocol filter state
- filter policy assignment
- IBSS relay mode
- SSH management access status
