Description: This attribute, when TRUE, indicates that admission control is mandatory for the given AC. When False, this attribute indicates that the admission control is not mandatory for the given AC. The default value for this parameter shall be FALSE.
What is apWMMBssParamAdmissionControl?
This read-write TruthValue, defaulting to FALSE, indicates whether admission control is mandatory before a non-AP QSTA can use a given Access Category. Turning it TRUE forces clients to negotiate bandwidth before sending on that AC, which protects already-admitted voice or video streams from being crowded out by new traffic. A site experiencing call quality drops under load might set this TRUE for the voice AC so new sessions must request admission first.
