What Is WWP-LEOS-OAM-MIB?

This is Ciena/WWP's LEOS implementation of the IEEE 802.3ah (Ethernet in the First Mile) Clause 30 OAM functionality, providing link-level Operations, Administration, and Maintenance capability: link monitoring, remote fault indication, and remote loopback control for Ethernet links. It exposes fault/alarm-oriented data (OAM peer discovery state, remote fault flags such as dying-gasp and critical events) and configuration for enabling remote loopback testing, rather than throughput counters. This MIB is squarely a fault/software-status monitoring tool: it lets an operator see whether OAM is active on a link, detect remote faults signaled by the far-end device, and verify loopback test results, direct indicators of physical link health without needing console access to the remote device. It explicitly builds on IEEE 802.3ah OAM Clause 30 (closely related to the IETF DOT3-OAM-MIB) as its standards basis. It is typically deployed on Ethernet access-network links, such as between a carrier's Metro Ethernet switch and a customer demarcation device, for first-mile fault isolation. Engineers can download the WWP-LEOS-OAM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-LEOS-OAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor.
