What Is ACC-PSTN?

ACC-PSTN is a vendor-specific SNMP module for ACC/Ericsson integrated access routers that manages PSTN trunk interfaces, including T1/E1 channel-associated signaling (CAS) and R2 signaling as well as DTMF handling for call routing. It exposes configuration and status data for the router's telephony trunk hardware, including signaling protocol parameters used to interconnect with the public switched telephone network. Its monitoring value centers on trunk/interface hardware status and signaling health — confirming DTMF and R2 signaling subsystems are functioning correctly on each PSTN trunk, which is analogous to interface/line status monitoring on a voice gateway. It works alongside the router's general PSTN/T1/E1 line MIBs and ACC's own interface MIBs. It is deployed in branch offices or POPs where an ACC router provides PSTN trunk connectivity alongside data services. Engineers can download the ACC-PSTN file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

The sample objects accPstn, accDTMF, accDTMFo/accDTMFoo, and accR2Sig/accR2Sigo indicate this MIB groups DTMF detection and R2 signaling configuration and status under the top-level accPstn object. An administrator monitoring a PSTN trunk would poll the accDTMF and accR2Sig branches to confirm tone detection and R2 line signaling states are correct, which would reveal a failed or misconfigured trunk if DTMF digits are not being decoded or R2 signaling states are stuck. This is useful for diagnosing call setup failures on T1/E1 PSTN trunks.
