What Is HP-ICF-BASIC?

HP-ICF-BASIC is a core HP proprietary MIB for the HP Integrated Communication Facility (ICF) product line, providing foundational device-level management objects shared across HP ProCurve and Aruba switches, such as system identity and basic operational status/resource information. As a base module, it underlies many other HP-ICF MIBs that build on the objects it defines. Its monitoring role is to expose overall device software/hardware status at a basic level - general system resource and operational health indicators - rather than detailed environmental sensor data, which lives in other HP-ICF modules. It is closely related to the standard SNMPv2-MIB/RFC 1213 system group and forms the base layer many other HP-ICF-* modules depend on. It is deployed universally across HP ProCurve and Aruba ICF-based switches as a foundational management module. Engineers can download the HP-ICF-BASIC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-BASIC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
