Description: When the value of this object is 'enabled(1)', the telnet server on this agent is running and allowed to accept connections. When the value of this object is 'disabled(2)', no incoming telnet connections will be accepted by this agent. Whether the telnet server continues running when this object is set to 'disabled(2)' is implementation dependent.
What is hpicfTelnetEnable?
This read-write flag enables or disables the Telnet server on the device: 'enabled' allows incoming Telnet management sessions, while 'disabled' rejects new connection attempts. Security-conscious admins typically set this to 'disabled' once SSH is configured, since Telnet sends credentials in cleartext.
