hpicfIpConfigAdminStatus

Module: HP-ICF-BASIC

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-BASIC::hpicfIpConfigAdminStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.4.8.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: ********* THIS OBJECT IS DEPRECATED *********

Setting this flag to 'learn' (the default) will clear any existing IP address configuration for this interface, and will cause the device to use a dynamic method (e.g. BootP) to obtain its IP configuration for this interface. This flag must be set to 'useConfigured' in order to configure an IP address for the interface. Setting this flag to 'disable' will disable the IP protocol stack on this interface.

What is hpicfIpConfigAdminStatus?

This deprecated, per-interface object controls how the interface obtains its IP configuration: 'learn' clears any static config and uses a dynamic method like BootP, 'useConfigured' is required before a static address can be set, and 'disable' turns off IP on that interface entirely. It predates simpler global or DHCP-based configuration mechanisms in current firmware.
