Category: Hardware and Environment, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Manages Compaq/HP Consolidated Management Console (CMC) blade server chassis and module objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CPQCMC-MIB?

CPQCMC-MIB is a legacy Compaq (later HP, enterprise OID 232, built on CPQHOST-MIB) proprietary MIB for the Compaq Cluster/Console Management Card (CMC), reporting environmental and relay status. Its objects cover MIB revision/condition, OS common poll frequency, device condition, language/temperature-unit/audible-alarm settings, a password and password-option, relay quit/logic controls (two relays), and per-temperature-probe availability with relay and audible-alarm warning/max/min thresholds (for two probes shown, extensible). As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm temperature-threshold configuration and relay behavior on a Compaq CMC-managed environment. It is deployed on legacy Compaq (HP) systems with a Cluster/Console Management Card. Engineers can download the CPQCMC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CPQCMC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy Compaq (HP) systems (Cluster/Console Management Card)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cpqCmcSetupTemp1RelaysMax to confirm the temperature threshold that triggers a relay action is set appropriately on a Compaq CMC-managed system.

What Can Be Monitored

  • temperature thresholds and relay configuration
