(2) fan will run and stop according to temperature of sensor 1 and threshold of fan1 (3) fan will run independent of temperature and threshold (4) fan will stop independent of temperature and threshold (3) and (4) can be used for alert handling.
What is cpqCmcSetFan1?
This read-write enumerated value controls Fan 1's run mode: auto(2) to follow sensor 1 and its threshold, on(3) to force it running regardless of temperature, or off(4) to force it stopped. An administrator uses the on and off states for alert-handling or troubleshooting scenarios where automatic thermal control isn't desired. Forcing this to on(3) during a suspected sensor fault would ensure Fan 1 keeps running for safety even if sensor 1's readings can't be trusted.
