What Is ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-QOS-MIB?

ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-QOS-MIB is Alcatel-Lucent's proprietary QoS MIB for the Timetra-derived 7x50 SR (7750 Service Router) family, used to provision Quality of Service policies such as DSCP name mappings and forwarding-class definitions. It exposes configuration-style data rather than live traffic counters: named policy tables, row status, and storage type for each QoS object. Its monitoring value is largely about software/configuration state - confirming whether QoS policy entries are active, whether they persist across a reboot (storage type), and when they were last changed - which helps an operator audit and troubleshoot QoS policy drift rather than hardware faults. ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-QOS-MIB SNMP monitoring is therefore oriented toward configuration auditing rather than real-time traffic statistics. It belongs to the larger Timetra/TIMETRA-* proprietary MIB family and follows standard SNMPv2-SMI conventions but is not derived from any IETF QoS MIB. It is deployed on carrier and service-provider edge routers doing DiffServ-style QoS marking and queuing for IP/MPLS services.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DSCP-to-policy-name mappings
  • forwarding class definitions
  • QoS policy entry row status
  • QoS entry storage type (volatile vs. persistent)
  • last-changed timestamp for QoS config

Supported Devices

  • Nokia 7750 SR-1x-48D (2024) — FP5-silicon service router, direct successor to the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
  • Nokia 7750 SR-a — compact service router variant of the same portfolio

Monitoring Examples

tDSCPNameTable/tDSCPNameEntry maps a DSCP codepoint (tDSCPNameDscpValue) to a named policy object, and tDSCPNameLastChanged lets an admin see when that mapping was last edited, useful for auditing unexpected QoS marking changes. tFCNameTable/tFCNameEntry defines forwarding-class names referenced by queuing policies, with tFCRowStatus and tFCStorageType showing whether each forwarding class is active and whether it will survive a reboot.
