Description: TIMETRA-MPLS-TP-MIB module
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIMETRA-MPLS-TP-MIB?
This Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent proprietary MIB manages MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) components on the SROS platform, a connection-oriented variant of MPLS designed for transport-network-style OAM and static tunnel provisioning. It exposes system-wide MPLS-TP identity objects (global ID, node ID, tunnel ID ranges) as well as OAM template configuration used for continuity-check and fault-detection sessions. Its monitoring value centers on software/protocol status: vRtrMplsTpAdminState shows whether MPLS-TP is administratively enabled, and the OAM template tables underpin the continuity-check mechanisms that detect a tunnel or path failure. It builds directly on IETF MPLS-TP standards (RFC 5921 and related OAM RFCs) alongside the vendor's virtual-router (vRtr) instancing. It's typically deployed in packet-transport/backhaul networks using 7750 SR or 7705 SAR nodes where MPLS-TP tunnels carry TDM or Ethernet services requiring carrier-grade OAM. Engineers can download the TIMETRA-MPLS-TP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-MPLS-TP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
- 7705 SAR packet-transport router
Monitoring Examples
An admin queries vRtrMplsTpSystemTable / vRtrMplsTpSystemEntry to read vRtrMplsTpGlobalId, vRtrMplsTpNodeId and the vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMin/Max range alongside vRtrMplsTpAdminState, confirming the router's MPLS-TP identity and administrative status are correctly provisioned. Walking vRtrMplsTpOamTemplateCfgTable (tracked via vRtrMplsTpOamTemplTblLastChanged) shows which OAM continuity-check templates are configured, letting an operator verify that fault-detection timers match the service's SLA before relying on the tunnel for a transport link.
What Can Be Monitored
- MPLS-TP admin state
- global ID / node ID
- tunnel ID range
- OAM template configuration
- OAM template last-changed time

| TMN vRtrMplsTpTunnelID | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.5 | TmnxTunnelID | not-accessible | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelID provides an additional index to distinguish between multiple tunnels to same destination having same characteristics. There could be multiple tunnels for the type 'mplsTpStatic'. In such cases the vRtrMplsTpTunnelID will hold the specific MPLS-TP Static LSP Id. |
| U32 vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMax | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.2.1.1.1.5 | Unsigned32 | read-create | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMax specifies the end range of tunnel ids reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. This variable must be set along with vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMin to indicate the range of tunnel ids reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. A value of 0 indicates that tunnel ids are not reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. |
| U32 vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMin | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.2.1.1.1.4 | Unsigned32 | read-create | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMin specifies the start range of tunnel ids reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. This variable must be set along with vRtrMplsTpTunnelIdMax to indicate the range of tunnel ids reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. A value of 0 indicates that tunnel ids are not reserved for MPLS-TP LSPs. |
| U32 vRtrMplsTpTunnelMetric | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.8 | Unsigned32 | read-only | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelMetric indicates the metric of the tunnel. This is used in addition to the preference for this tunnel. |
| IP vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddress | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.7 | InetAddress | not-accessible | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddress specifies the ip address of the next hop for the MPLS-TP tunnel and it depends on the value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddrType. |
| IPt vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddrType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.6 | InetAddressType | not-accessible | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddrType specifies the address type of vRtrMplsTpTunnelNextHopAddress. |
| TMN vRtrMplsTpTunnelNodeId | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.1 | TmnxMplsTpNodeID | not-accessible | vRtrMplsTpTunnelNodeId indicates the destination node id of this tunnel. |
| U32 vRtrMplsTpTunnelPreference | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.3 | Unsigned32 | not-accessible | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelPreference determines the priority of this tunnel versus the other tunnels from different sources. This is an absolute number used internally by the system to specify preferences for the tunnel. The lowest number signifies the most preferred entry in the table. |
| vRtrMplsTpTunnelTable | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1 | not-accessible | vRtrMplsTpTunnelTable maintains a list of MPLS-TP tunnels for the specific router instance. | |
| vRtrMplsTpTunnelTableGroup | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.1.83.2.1.8 | The group of objects supporting manual protection operations for MPLS-TP Tunnels on the SROS series systems. | ||
| TMN vRtrMplsTpTunnelType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.83.3.1.1.1.4 | TmnxMplsTpTunnelType | not-accessible | The value of vRtrMplsTpTunnelType indicates the type of this tunnel entity. |
