Category: Network Management Infrastructure, Nokia SR OS / Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
Description: Manages Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR global system parameters and enterprise-wide configuration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIMETRA-GLOBAL-MIB?
TIMETRA-GLOBAL-MIB provides the central OID registration point for Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent's 'timetra' enterprise branch, under which all SR OS (7750 SR and related) MIB modules for products and services register. Its sample content is largely structural/registration in nature (timetraReg, timetraServiceSwitches, timetraProducts) plus an AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement (tmnxAgentCapability) describing what the SR OS SNMP agent implements, rather than live operational counters. As such it plays only an indirect role in monitoring hardware/software status: it lets management systems identify device capability and product identity, while actual uptime, CPU/memory, environmental, and interface status are exposed by the many other TIMETRA-* functional MIBs registered beneath it. It is a foundational dependency imported by virtually all other TIMETRA-* modules and typically works alongside TIMETRA-TC-MIB for shared textual conventions. It is deployed with Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent SR OS-based routers and switches in service-provider and carrier networks, where TIMETRA-GLOBAL-MIB SNMP monitoring is generally limited to capability discovery rather than fault or performance data.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-GLOBAL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent SR OS-based routers and switches, entire product line (base enterprise OID registration/agent-capability)
Monitoring Examples
The tmnxAgentCapability object lets a management station confirm which SR OS feature set / MIB support level a given router's SNMP agent implements, useful when validating compatibility before deploying new monitoring templates, while timetraProducts and timetraServiceSwitches are registration subtrees identifying product family; this module itself has no runtime performance or fault data objects, which instead reside in the functional TIMETRA-* MIBs (chassis, interface, service) that register under it.
