All MIBs › TIMETRA-TC-MIB
Organization: Alcatel-Lucent
Last Updated: 2011-02-01
Category: Network Management Infrastructure, Nokia SR OS / Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
Description: Defines Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR textual conventions shared across TIMETRA MIB modules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIMETRA-TC-MIB?
TIMETRA-TC-MIB defines the shared SNMP textual conventions used throughout Nokia's (formerly Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS MIB suite for the 7750 SR and related service router platforms. It contains no data objects of its own; instead it standardizes reusable types (for indices, enumerations, and identifiers) that other TIMETRA-* MIBs use to represent things like interface states, service types, or hardware slot/card identifiers consistently. Because it's a pure type-definitions module, it has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status; that functionality is provided by the many TIMETRA-* MIBs (chassis, interface, service, routing) that import these conventions. It is a near-universal dependency, imported by virtually every other TIMETRA-* MIB module. It is deployed alongside SR OS-based routers/switches in service provider and carrier networks, and any TIMETRA-TC-MIB download obtained from Nokia's SR OS MIB support package will always include it as a baseline dependency.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent SR OS-based platforms, entire product line (shared textual conventions, no data objects)
Monitoring Examples
This is a textual-conventions-only module with no runtime data objects such as tables, scalars, or notifications, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its conventions are consumed by other TIMETRA MIBs (e.g. chassis and interface MIBs) that do expose pollable status objects.
