Description: Manages chassis slot provisioning, card type assignment, and physical configuration for Paradyne nTech DSL equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NTNTECH-CHASSIS-CONFIGURATION-MIB?

NTNTECH-CHASSIS-CONFIGURATION-MIB manages the physical chassis configuration of Paradyne Corporation's nTech DSLAM product family, including the MUM200-2/MUM2000-2 modules and Mini/Micro DSLAMs such as the AMD8000-12 and SMD2000-series units, covering slot provisioning and card-type assignment. It exposes chassis- and card-level configuration tables for the multiplexer uplink module and per-line-type interface modules (Ethernet, T1, E1), plus SNMP trap-notification target configuration and authentication trap enable/disable settings. Its monitoring role is primarily configuration/hardware-inventory status: the chassis and interface tables let an operator confirm which card types and line configurations are installed and active in each chassis slot, catching a misconfigured or missing module before it affects DSL service. It underpins, and is used alongside, the companion NTNTECH-INTERFACE-MODULE-CONFIGURATION-MIB, which manages the actual DSL line parameters on those cards. It is deployed on Paradyne/nTech DSLAM chassis in telco central-office or remote-terminal DSL access deployments. Engineers can download the NTNTECH-CHASSIS-CONFIGURATION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NTNTECH-CHASSIS-CONFIGURATION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Paradyne nTech DSLAM chassis (Mini/Micro DSLAM)
  • MUM200-2/MUM2000-2 multiplexer module

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls mumCfgTable to confirm the installed multiplexer uplink module type in a chassis slot, then checks uimCfgT1Table or uimCfgE1Entry to verify T1/E1 line card configuration matches provisioning records; a mismatch between expected and reported card type in chsCfgParameterConfiguration flags a hardware swap or slot misconfiguration.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed card/module type per slot
  • Ethernet/T1/E1 line card configuration
  • SNMP trap notification target IPs
  • authentication trap enable state
