What Is QBSYS-SYSTEM-MIB?

QBSYS-SYSTEM-MIB is a vendor MIB for Quantum Bridge Technologies devices, defining system-level management objects covering chassis configuration, hardware inventory, and software version information. It exposes objects describing chassis and module hardware inventory, installed software versions, and general system configuration parameters for Quantum Bridge network equipment. Administrators often load QBSYS-SYSTEM-MIB into a MIB Browser to explore its object tree, using it to monitor hardware/software status such as chassis and module presence, hardware revision, and running software version across the device. As with many vendor system MIBs, it is organized via conformance groups and compliance statements (qbSysGroups, qbSysCompliances) and builds on standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-CONF conventions rather than depending on unrelated external MIBs. It is deployed on Quantum Bridge chassis-based network devices where operators need visibility into system inventory and software version status via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in QBSYS-SYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

The sample objects available for this module, qbSysCompliances and qbSysGroups, are conformance-statement and object-group definitions rather than live data instances, so they describe which objects a compliant Quantum Bridge agent must implement rather than exposing values to poll directly. In practice, an operator would use the scalar and table objects referenced by these groups elsewhere in the MIB tree to check chassis hardware inventory and installed software version. Because only conformance objects were provided as samples here, a concrete polling scenario for specific hardware sensors can't be stated with certainty from this data alone.
