Description: Eaton ePDU MIB providing core management objects for Eaton rack power distribution units including power and current monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is EATON-EPDU-MIB?
EATON-EPDU-MIB is Eaton's core enterprise MIB for its ePDU (Enclosure/rack Power Distribution Unit) product line, providing management objects for monitoring and identifying rack-mounted PDUs used to distribute power to data-center equipment. It exposes unit identification and inventory data (product name, part number, serial number, firmware version, unit name) alongside input power/current monitoring objects and unit-level controls such as LCD display control and a device clock setting. Its primary monitoring value is power infrastructure health: tracking input current and power draw per PDU helps detect overload conditions or a failing circuit, while firmwareVersion and unit inventory data support fleet-wide firmware compliance audits, making this a key MIB for monitoring the health and load of rack power distribution hardware supporting other equipment. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB without heavy reliance on other standard MIBs, though it may be used alongside standard entity-inventory concepts. It is deployed on Eaton ePDU rack-mounted power distribution units in data center and server room environments. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the EATON-EPDU-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EATON-EPDU-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Eaton ePDU rack power distribution units
Monitoring Examples
A data center operator would poll unitTable/unitEntry (indexed by strappingIndex) for productName, partNumber, serialNumber, and firmwareVersion to inventory each ePDU across a fleet and confirm firmware compliance. Objects under "inputs" would be checked for input current/power readings to detect a PDU input circuit nearing its rated capacity, an early warning sign before a breaker trips, while unitsPresent confirms how many ePDU units the management interface currently sees. lcdControl and clockValue are typically checked or set during unit provisioning rather than as ongoing health indicators.
What Can Be Monitored
- input current/power per PDU
- unit presence/inventory count
- firmware version
- serial number/part number
- unit name
