Description: Eaton ePDU Power Unit Metered Input MIB for monitoring input power measurements on Eaton intelligent PDU devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EATON-EPDU-PU-MI-MIB?

EATON-EPDU-PU-MI-MIB is an Eaton private MIB for the Power Unit Metered Input (PU-MI) variant of Eaton's monitored ePDU (enclosed power distribution unit) line, specifically those with a blue local display. It exposes system uptime, unit naming/identity, and configuration of low/high current alarm thresholds across multiple threshold levels (and legacy old variants) for the PDU's monitored input(s), organized under a monitoredepdu/epdum tree. Its monitoring purpose is centered on the hardware and power status of the PDU itself: uptime confirms the device management interface is up, and the per-level low/high current thresholds are what generate alarms when a circuit's current draw departs from its normal operating band, which is the primary signal of overload or an underutilized/failed downstream device. It is a vendor-specific MIB but structurally related to the broader Eaton ePDU/PDU MIB family (e.g. EATON-PDU-MIB) covering similar power-monitoring concepts. It is deployed in data centers and equipment racks on Eaton monitored ePDU units, polled to detect overload conditions or circuit-level power anomalies before they trip a breaker. Engineers can download the EATON-EPDU-PU-MI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EATON-EPDU-PU-MI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Eaton ePDU (Power Unit Metered Input, blue display) intelligent power distribution unit

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll uptime and unitName to confirm the ePDU's management agent identity and availability, then check the configured lowCurrentThreshold1old through lowCurrentThreshold8old and their corresponding highCurrentThreshold*old objects against the PDU's actual measured input current elsewhere in the monitoredepdu/epdum tree. A measured current falling below a configured low threshold could indicate a downstream device has been unplugged or failed, while crossing a high threshold would warn of an approaching overload on that input before a breaker trips.

What Can Be Monitored

  • device uptime
  • unit name/identity
  • low current alarm thresholds
  • high current alarm thresholds
