What Is CMC-MIB?
CMC-MIB is a Rittal Computer Multi Control (CMC) MIB for the environmental and infrastructure monitoring controller commonly installed in Rittal server/network cabinets, covering sensors such as temperature and humidity per the vendor's short description. In this excerpt the visible objects are IP-interface discard counters (cmcIpInAdminDiscards/cmcIpOutAdminDiscards) on the controller itself plus the top-level OID subtree structure (cmc-prod, cmc-adapt, cmc-system, cmc-soft, cmc-mgmt) under which the controller's product, adapter, system, software, and management object groups are organized. An operator would poll cmcIpInAdminDiscards and cmcIpOutAdminDiscards to check whether the CMC controller's own management interface is dropping packets administratively, which could indicate a misconfiguration on the controller's network stack. To get actual cabinet environmental readings (temperature, humidity, door status), an operator would need to walk further into the cmc-system or cmc-adapt subtrees, which are referenced here as OID branches but whose individual sensor objects are not enumerated in this excerpt.
