Category: Vendor: Ceragon

Description: Provides Service Activation Test (SAT) objects for end-to-end diagnostics on Ceragon radio links.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CM-SAT-MIB?

CM-SAT-MIB provides Service Activation Test (SAT) objects, per its module description, for the F3 (FSP150CM/CC) product line associated with ADVA/Ceragon, used for end-to-end diagnostic testing on microwave radio/Carrier Ethernet links. It exposes a control table for configuring and running test instances - test mode, test procedures, committed-information-rate (CIR) test step configuration, and test duration - along with a status object reporting test progress/outcome and an action object to start/stop tests. This is a diagnostics/software-function status MIB rather than a passive hardware-health one: satControlStatus reports whether a service-activation test is running, completed, or failed, which is used to verify that a newly provisioned circuit or radio link meets its committed performance parameters before being placed into production. It is specific to the ADVA/Ceragon F3 (FSP150CM/CC) product architecture and its own cmServActivation object tree rather than a general IETF standard. Typical deployment context is telecom/carrier microwave backhaul or Carrier Ethernet access networks where service activation testing validates SLA compliance on newly turned-up links. Engineers can download the CM-SAT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CM-SAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADVA/Ceragon FSP150CM/CC microwave radio or Carrier Ethernet access node

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would configure satControlTable/satControlEntry with satControlTestMode, satControlConfigCIRTestStepNum, and satControlConfigCIRTestStepDuration, then trigger satControlAction to start a CIR step test and poll satControlStatus for pass/fail results. A satControlStatus indicating failure during the configured satControlPerfTestDuration would reveal that the circuit does not meet its committed rate, prompting further link diagnostics. Receiving a trap from cmServActivationNotifications would alert the NMS that a test referenced by satControlIndex/satControlName has completed or encountered an error.

What Can Be Monitored

  • service activation test status
  • CIR test step configuration and results
  • test duration/procedures
  • test start/stop control
