Category: Vendor: ACC/Ericsson

Description: Manages dial-access management on ACC/Ericsson routers, providing call admission control, dial policy, and modem/ISDN resource allocation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACC-DIALMGMT?

ACC-DIALMGMT is an enterprise MIB for ACC/Ericsson routers covering dial-access management, including call admission control, dial policy, and allocation of modem/ISDN resources. It exposes configuration and status objects governing how many simultaneous dial sessions are permitted and how modem/ISDN channel resources are assigned to incoming or outgoing calls. Its monitoring relevance is in resource availability and admission-control status: an operator can see whether the modem or ISDN channel pool is exhausted, which directly signals a hardware/capacity problem affecting the device's ability to accept new dial-up sessions. It complements ACC-ASYNC, which covers physical async ports, and ACC-CM, which covers individual connection state, to give the full dial-access resource picture. It is deployed on ACC/Ericsson access routers serving as dial-in concentrators or dial-backup gateways, as defined in the ACC-DIALMGMT MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-DIALMGMT. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ACC/Ericsson dial-access router/concentrator

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polls the dial-resource pool objects to see how many modem/ISDN channels are currently in use versus the total available, and checks the admission-control policy objects to confirm call limits are set appropriately for the site. If the in-use channel count is consistently at the pool maximum, that indicates the dial concentrator is undersized for current demand and calls are likely being rejected.

What Can Be Monitored

  • modem/ISDN channel pool utilization
  • call admission control policy
  • available versus in-use dial resources
