Category: Vendor: ACC/Ericsson

Description: Manages IP tunnel interfaces on ACC/Ericsson routers, including tunnel endpoint configuration and encapsulation parameters.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACC-TUNNEL?

ACC-TUNNEL is a vendor-specific SNMP module for ACC/Ericsson access routers that manages IP tunnel interfaces, including tunnel endpoint addresses and encapsulation parameters (such as GRE or IP-in-IP style tunneling). It exposes configuration data describing how tunnels are built rather than hardware sensor data. Its monitoring value is chiefly around confirming tunnel interface configuration and operational (up/down) status, functioning as a software/logical-interface health check similar to how ifTable is used for physical interfaces. It works alongside the standard IF-MIB and the router's ACC-IP module since tunnel interfaces are layered on top of IP interfaces. It is deployed where ACC routers provide site-to-site or VPN-style tunneling over a WAN. Engineers can download the ACC-TUNNEL file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-TUNNEL. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ACC/Ericsson access router

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were extracted for this module. An administrator would typically poll this MIB's tunnel endpoint and encapsulation configuration objects, alongside the tunnel's operational status, to confirm a site-to-site tunnel is up and correctly encapsulated, which would reveal a tunnel that has gone down due to an endpoint mismatch. Exact object names should be verified against the actual MIB source since none were supplied.

What Can Be Monitored

  • tunnel endpoint configuration
  • encapsulation parameters
  • tunnel interface operational status
