What Is NTNTECH-INTERFACE-MODULE-CONFIGURATION-MIB?

NTNTECH-INTERFACE-MODULE-CONFIGURATION-MIB manages the DSL line-level interface parameters on Paradyne Corporation's nTech IPD12000, IPD4000, and Mini/Micro DSLAM product lines, such as the AAM8000-12/24 and EAM2000-12, configuring per-port DSL and VLAN settings. It exposes per-port configuration tables covering VLAN assignment and ADSL-specific line parameters such as echo-cancellation/FDM mode and fast-path buffering, alongside performance-oriented objects for upstream/downstream signal-to-noise ratio and actual negotiated transmit/receive rates. Its monitoring value is squarely in DSL line performance and hardware status: watching the ADSL SNR and actual sync-rate objects reveals a degrading copper line, excessive noise, or a rate fallback that indicates a physical-layer fault well before a full outage. It complements NTNTECH-CHASSIS-CONFIGURATION-MIB, relying on that MIB's slot/card provisioning to identify which physical port each entry corresponds to. It is deployed on Paradyne/nTech DSLAM and access-multiplexer equipment in telco DSL access networks. An operator polls ifCfgPortAdslTable, via ifCfgPortAdslEntry, for a subscriber port to read ifCfgPortAdslSnrDn and ifCfgPortAdslActualRxRate, then compares them against baseline values recorded at install; a falling SNR paired with a lower actual sync rate indicates line noise or a cabling fault degrading that DSL subscriber's connection.
