This read-write setting selects the T1 framing format for a port: t1frameTypeESF (Extended Superframe) or t1frameTypeSFD4 (D4/Superframe). An admin matches this to the framing format used by the carrier's T1 circuit, since a mismatch causes the T1 line to fail to frame up.
