What Is JUNIPER-MPLS-LDP-MIB?
This Juniper enterprise MIB implements Juniper's version of MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) session and entity management, paralleling the IETF MPLS-LDP-MIB. It exposes LDP entity configuration and identity data — protocol version, LSR identifier, loop-detection capability, admin/operational status, and last-change timestamps for each LDP entity. Monitoring emphasis is on protocol/software status: jnxMplsLdpEntityOperStatus versus jnxMplsLdpEntityAdminStatus reveals whether an LDP session is actually up (a critical fault indicator for label distribution), and jnxMplsLdpEntityLastChange functions like an uptime/stability indicator by showing how recently a session's state changed. It closely mirrors and depends on the standard MPLS-LDP-MIB (RFC 3815) and related MPLS textual conventions. Polling jnxMplsLdpEntityTable/jnxMplsLdpEntityEntry per jnxMplsLdpEntityIndex lets an operator compare jnxMplsLdpEntityOperStatus against jnxMplsLdpEntityAdminStatus to detect a session that's administratively enabled but operationally down, indicating a neighbor adjacency or transport problem. jnxMplsLdpEntityLdpId identifies which peer session is affected, and jnxMplsLdpEntityLastChange shows how recently the state flapped, helping correlate instability with other network events. jnxMplsLdpLsrId identifies the local LSR for the routing instance being examined.
