Description: Hirschmann HiOS (HM2) diagnostics MIB for cable testing, port diagnostics, and hardware fault detection.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HM2-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB?
HM2-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB is a Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH proprietary MIB (built on HM2-DEVMGMT-MIB/HM2-PWRMGMT-MIB) reporting device self-test and signal-contact (relay) status. Its objects cover a self-test RAM result, boot time, a self-test-action table (cause, action), boot system-monitor/default-config-on-error/config-push-button settings, and a signal-contact table (ID, trap enable/cause/index, mode, operational state and timestamp, manual-activate, and sense flags for link failure, temperature, fan, module removal, external-NVM removal/sync). As a status/diagnostic MIB it lets an administrator confirm which condition (link, temperature, fan, module) tripped the signal-contact relay on a Hirschmann industrial switch. It is deployed on Hirschmann Automation and Control industrial Ethernet switching equipment. Engineers can download the HM2-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HM2-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Hirschmann Automation and Control industrial Ethernet switching equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks hm2SigConTrapCause and hm2SigConSenseTemperature to identify which condition tripped the signal-contact relay on a Hirschmann industrial switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- self-test results and signal-contact (relay) alarm conditions

RFC description
Hirschmann diagnostic MIB providing LED status monitoring and diagnostics for managed industrial network switches.
Start monitoring Hirschmann industrial Ethernet switch (self-test/signal-contact diagnostics) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
