What Is HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB?
HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB is an HP proprietary MIB providing detailed information about optical/copper transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP, etc.) installed in HP ProCurve switch ports, including Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) data. It exposes hardware inventory and diagnostic data such as transceiver type, vendor, and real-time optical/electrical measurements. Its central monitoring value is hardware status: reporting transceiver temperature, supply voltage, and optical transmit/receive power levels so operators can detect a degrading or failing optic before it causes a link outage. It is a self-contained HP hardware-inventory MIB with no strong dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the base IF-MIB for port association. It is typically deployed in data center and campus environments using HP ProCurve fiber/copper switches, where administrators reference the HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB MIB to enable proactive optical health monitoring that prevents unplanned link failures.

Monitoring Examples
