Description: HP ICF SNMP MIB for optical transceiver diagnostics including DOM data such as temperature, voltage, and optical power on HP ProCurve switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB?

HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB is an HP proprietary MIB providing detailed information about optical/copper transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP, etc.) installed in HP ProCurve switch ports, including Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) data. It exposes hardware inventory and diagnostic data such as transceiver type, vendor, and real-time optical/electrical measurements. Its central monitoring value is hardware status: reporting transceiver temperature, supply voltage, and optical transmit/receive power levels so operators can detect a degrading or failing optic before it causes a link outage. It is a self-contained HP hardware-inventory MIB with no strong dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the base IF-MIB for port association. It is typically deployed in data center and campus environments using HP ProCurve fiber/copper switches, where administrators reference the HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB MIB to enable proactive optical health monitoring that prevents unplanned link failures.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP ProCurve switch (fiber/optical ports)

Monitoring Examples

No sample_objects were supplied, but consistent with the module description this MIB would expose a per-port transceiver table with DOM fields for temperature, voltage, and Tx/Rx optical power. An administrator would poll this table across all fiber ports and alert if a transceiver's temperature or Rx power drifts outside vendor-specified thresholds, indicating an aging or failing optic.

What Can Be Monitored

  • transceiver temperature
  • transceiver supply voltage
  • optical transmit power
  • optical receive power
  • transceiver vendor/type inventory
