What Is CTRON-SFPS-PORT-MIB?

CTRON-SFPS-PORT-MIB is a Cabletron SecureFast Packet Switching (SFPS) MIB managing per-port configuration, bandwidth allocation, and QoS settings for ports participating in the SecureFast switching fabric. It exposes an input-port configuration table (sfpsInPortConfigTable/Entry) with objects for admin/operational status, uptime, port type, reserved and allocated bandwidth, QoS class, and queue size (sfpsInPortConfigAdminStatus, sfpsInPortConfigOperStatus, sfpsInPortConfigOperTime, sfpsInPortConfigReservedBW, sfpsInPortConfigAllocBW, sfpsInPortConfigQoS, sfpsInPortConfigQSize). Its monitoring focus covers both port hardware/link status (admin/oper status, uptime) and software-level resource allocation (reserved vs. allocated bandwidth, QoS class, queue size), making it useful for spotting a port that is administratively up but operationally down, or one that is over-allocated relative to its reserved bandwidth. An admin would poll sfpsInPortConfigTable/Entry indexed by sfpsInPortConfigPort to compare sfpsInPortConfigAdminStatus against sfpsInPortConfigOperStatus, catching a port that was enabled but has failed to come up (e.g. bad cable or SFP). sfpsInPortConfigReservedBW versus sfpsInPortConfigAllocBW would reveal a port that has allocated more bandwidth than reserved, signaling a QoS oversubscription risk. sfpsInPortConfigOperTime shows how long the port has been in its current operational state, and sfpsInPortConfigQSize indicates the queue depth configured for that port's QoS class.
