Description: Provides ZTE access node interface traffic statistics for bandwidth utilization monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZTE-AN-INTERFACE-STATS-MIB?

ZTE-AN-INTERFACE-STATS-MIB is a ZTE Corporation vendor-specific MIB that provides detailed interface performance statistics for ZTE Access Node (AN) broadband access equipment, covering Ethernet ports, bridge ports, LAG interfaces, VLANs, and PVC interfaces. Its largest table, zxAnEthIfCurrStatsTable (indexed by the standard ifIndex), exposes dozens of Counter64 fields covering basic traffic volume (zxAnEthIfInOctets/OutOctets, InPkts/OutPkts, and unicast/multicast/broadcast breakdowns), error conditions (zxAnEthIfFcsErrors, zxAnEthIfAlignmentErrors, InCrcErrPkts/OutCrcErrPkts, InErrPkts/OutErrPkts), collision statistics (zxAnEthIfOutCollisions, SingleCollisions, MultipleCollisions), oversized/undersized/fragment/jabber packet counts, a full packet-size distribution histogram (64 octets up through 1024-1518 octets), and a zxAnEthIfLinkStatusChanges counter plus a zxAnEthIfReset control object. A separate zxAnPvcIfStatsGlobalMode scalar lets an operator globally start or stop statistics collection across all PVC interfaces at once (allStarted/allStopped/invalid). Per the source module's own outline, it also defines analogous statistics groups for bridge ports, LAG interfaces, interface rate/bandwidth utilization, VLAN and SVLAN/CVLAN traffic, and current (in-progress) performance windows, making it ZTE's counterpart to the standard IF-MIB/EtherLike-MIB but scoped to access-node hardware. It depends on IF-MIB for ifIndex, HC-PerfHist-TC-MIB for high-capacity current-count conventions, and ZTE-AN-SMI/ZTE-AN-IF-MIB/ZTE-AN-TC-MIB for its registration point and VLAN/sub-interface index types. It is deployed on ZTE Access Node broadband access equipment, and operators evaluating a ZTE-AN-INTERFACE-STATS-MIB MIB deployment watch error and collision counters to catch degrading subscriber-facing Ethernet links.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZTE-AN-INTERFACE-STATS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE Access Node (AN) broadband access / DSLAM-class equipment

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls zxAnEthIfFcsErrors, zxAnEthIfAlignmentErrors, and zxAnEthIfOutCollisions for a subscriber-facing Ethernet port on the access node to check physical-layer health; a climbing zxAnEthIfLinkStatusChanges counter alongside rising FCS error counts would indicate a flapping or degrading copper/fiber link to that subscriber.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Ethernet port traffic counters (octets, unicast/multicast/broadcast packets)
  • FCS and alignment error counters
  • collision statistics (single/multiple)
  • oversized/undersized/fragment/jabber packet counts
  • packet-size distribution histogram
  • link status change counter

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using zxAnEthIfInOctets OID:

Select a ZTE Access Node (AN) broadband access / DSLAM-class equipment (Ethernet/bridge/LAG/VLAN traffic-statistics status) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type zxAnEthIfInOctets into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The total number of octets received on the interface, including framing characters. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
