Category: Videoframe Broadcast Monitoring

Description: Manages Video over IP for Emergency Operations (VIVoE) streaming endpoints and link quality.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is VIVOE-MIB?

VIVOE-MIB is a UK Ministry of Defence-derived private MIB (defined in Def Stan 00-82 Part 1) for managing devices in a Vetronics Infrastructure for Video Over Ethernet (VIVoE) architecture - i.e. digital video distribution systems used in military vehicles. It is intended to expose configuration and control data for video-over-IP endpoints and the digital video architecture components (cameras, displays, video switches) connected via Ethernet. Given its purpose, it would support monitoring the operational/software status of video endpoints - link/connection state, stream configuration, and endpoint identity - though this source did not surface concrete object names to confirm hardware-sensor detail like temperature. It is defined as a standalone Defence Standard-specific MIB rather than an extension of a common IETF video MIB, so it has limited cross-dependency on other standard MIBs. It is typically deployed in military vehicle electronic architectures (vetronics) where multiple video sources and displays are networked over Ethernet and need centralized management, as defined in the VIVOE-MIB MIB specification.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in VIVOE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • military vehicle video-over-Ethernet endpoint (vetronics architecture)

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module, so no concrete monitoring scenario can be given honestly; in general, a VIVOE-compliant management station would be expected to poll video endpoint/link configuration and status objects defined by the Def Stan 00-82 architecture, but the specific object names are not available here.
