Description: This object may be used to set the delay in microseconds between RTP packets on this channel. The time is measured from the end of the previous packet to the beginning of the next packet in the stream. The value of this object can be set (when in the maintenance mode) to request a new delay time to implement simple flow control on the network. If a service provider does not have a programmable inter- packet delay then it shall ignore this object and set it to the default value of 0. Not applicable for service users.

What is channelInterPacketDelay?

The delay, in microseconds, enforced between the end of one RTP packet and the start of the next on this channel, used as a simple flow-control mechanism. Admins increase this value on a service provider to throttle its outbound bandwidth when the network is congested; providers without this capability just ignore the setting and report 0.
