Description: TIMETRA-WEB-PORTAL-PROTOCOL-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIMETRA-WEB-PORTAL-PROTOCOL-MIB?

TIMETRA-WEB-PORTAL-PROTOCOL-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Alcatel-Lucent (Timetra was the original SR-OS developer, later Nokia) for managing and provisioning the Web Portal Protocol (WPP) feature on the 7xxx series service routers, a mechanism used to redirect or intercept subscriber HTTP sessions (e.g., for captive portal or service activation) on broadband access networks. It exposes configuration state (row status, administrative state, last-change timestamp) for portal instances via tmnxWppTable, plus a statistics table tracking named counters and values per portal instance. Its monitoring value spans both configuration/software status (confirming a web portal instance is administratively up via tmnxWppAdminState) and performance counters (via tmnxWppStatsTable's generic name/instance/value counters, which would track things like redirect counts or session activations). It is part of Alcatel-Lucent's large TIMETRA-* MIB family for the 7xxx SR-OS platform and shares naming/indexing conventions (tmnx prefix) with sibling Timetra MIBs. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia 7xxx service routers in broadband access networks offering subscriber web-redirect/portal services. Engineers can download the TIMETRA-WEB-PORTAL-PROTOCOL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-WEB-PORTAL-PROTOCOL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) 7xxx series service router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would check tmnxWppTable / tmnxWppEntry for tmnxWppAdminState to confirm a given portal instance is enabled, and tmnxWppLastCh to see when it was last modified. tmnxWppStatsTable / tmnxWppStatsEntry (keyed by tmnxWppStatsType and tmnxWppStatsInstance, with tmnxWppStatsName and tmnxWppStatsVal reporting the named counter and its value) would be polled to track portal activity such as redirect or activation counts; a portal instance showing tmnxWppAdminState up but stats value stuck at zero would indicate subscriber traffic is not actually being intercepted by that portal despite the configuration appearing correct.

What Can Be Monitored

  • web portal instance administrative state
  • portal configuration last-changed time
  • portal statistics counters (by type/instance)
  • portal row status
