Category: DSL and Broadband
Description: Manages DSL line diagnostic test execution, result retrieval, and test-state objects on the Ericsson Diax IP DSLAM.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PEA-TEST-IPDSLAM?
PEA-TEST-IPDSLAM is an Ericsson (via Diehl/Diax A/S, a Danish DSL-equipment maker acquired into Ericsson's broadband portfolio) proprietary MIB defining SELT (Single-Ended Line Test, loop qualification) and line-noise test control on IP-DSLAM equipment. Its objects cover a SELT-test input table, near-end/far-end noise-test activation, an advanced-output-table activation flag, tone profile, voice-over-parameters (Vop) setting, and upstream/downstream tone masks and transmit levels. As a diagnostic/configuration MIB it lets an administrator trigger a loop-qualification test on a DSL line and review its tone-mask/transmit-level parameters. It is deployed on Ericsson (Diax) IP-DSLAM broadband access equipment. Engineers can download the PEA-TEST-IPDSLAM file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PEA-TEST-IPDSLAM. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ericsson (Diax) IP-DSLAM broadband access equipment
Monitoring Examples
An access-network technician triggers a SELT test via seltTestInputTable on a line reporting sync problems, to get a loop-qualification estimate before dispatching a technician to check the physical wiring.
What Can Be Monitored
- SELT/noise test trigger and results
- tone mask and transmit level configuration

| INT atmF5EndToEndLoopbackInterval | 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.20.1.10.1.1 | INTEGER | read-write | A number of 'ATM OAM F5 end-to-end loopback' cell(s) are sent with this interval on each PVC created for the subscriber line identified by lineIndex. The CPE must return a reply within atmF5EndToEndLoopbackTimeout seconds. The value zero indicates that this test is disabled. The first cell will be send when a non-zero value is written into this variable - or when the line is ready. If a resolution in msec is needed, use atmF5EndToEndLoopbackIntervalFine. Note: In order to restart a batch (if atmF5EndToEndBatchCount != 0) this parameter should be set to 0 and then set to the new (or possible) same interval. |
| INT atmF5EndToEndLoopbackTimeout | 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.20.1.10.1.2 | INTEGER | read-write | Specifies the the maximum amount of time to wait for F5 replies for a batch. (The batch size is set in atmF5EndToEndBatchSize) |
| INT atmF5EndToEndLoopbackIntervalFine | 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.20.1.10.1.3 | INTEGER | read-write | A number of 'ATM OAM F5 end-to-end loopback' cell(s) are sent with this interval on each PVC created for the subscriber line identified by lineIndex. The CPE must return a reply within atmF5EndToEndLoopbackTimeout seconds. The value zero indicates that this test is disabled. The first cell will be send when a non-zero value is written into this variable - or when the line is ready. This parameter follows atmF5EndToEndLoopbackInterval with a finer resolution. Note: In order to restart a batch (if atmF5EndToEndBatchCount != 0) this parameter should be set to 0 and then set to the new (or possible) same interval. |
| INT atmF5EndToEndBatchSize | 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.20.1.10.1.5 | INTEGER | read-write | Specifies how many F5 cells that is be sent in an interval given by atmF5EndToEndLoopbackIntervalFine and atmF5EndToEndLoopbackInterval. |
| INT atmF5EndToEndBatchCount | 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.20.1.10.1.6 | INTEGER | read-write | Specifies how many batches that should be run before automatically stopping the test. Eg. A BatchCount of 4 and an interval of 3 seconds would run for 12 seconds and send a total of 20 F5 cells if BatchSize equals 5. Note: A BatchCount of 0 indicates that the test should run until it is stopped by setting interval to 0. |

RFC description
Controls SELT loop qualification and noise testing on Ericsson IP DSLAM access equipment.
Start monitoring Ericsson (Diax) IP-DSLAM broadband access equipment (SELT/noise test control) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
