Description: Core management MIB for the Calix E7 multi-service access platform defining system configuration, service, and interface objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is E7-Calix-MIB?

E7-Calix-MIB is the top-level infrastructure MIB for Calix's E7 multi-service access platform family, also covering the related E5-400 and E5-312 products, defining core system, chassis, and card management objects (fault management is handled separately). It exposes hardware inventory and configuration data through structures like e7CardTable, describing each card slot's bank, index, provisioned and actual card type, and administrative status, alongside interface groupings such as e7VdslPortGroup for VDSL line cards. It is heavily oriented toward monitoring hardware status: e7CardCurrentPowerLevel tracks power draw per card, e7CardSoftwareVersion and e7CardSerialNumber track firmware/version and asset identity, and e7CardAdminStatus/e7CardRowStatus reveal whether a card slot is administratively enabled or has been pulled/inserted. Because fault management is explicitly excluded from this module, it likely depends on a companion Calix E7 fault/alarm MIB (and standard MIBs like ENTITY-MIB/IF-MIB) for trap-based alerting and interface counters. It is deployed by broadband service providers managing Calix E7 chassis-based multi-service access platforms at central offices or remote terminals. Engineers can download the E7-Calix-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in E7-Calix-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Calix E7 multi-service access platform
  • Calix E5-400 access platform
  • Calix E5-312 access platform

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polls e7CardTable/e7CardEntry across e7CardBank and e7CardIndex to inventory installed cards, comparing e7CardProvType against e7CardActualType to catch a mismatch where a different card model was physically inserted than what was provisioned. Checking e7CardSoftwareVersion across cards identifies units running outdated firmware, while e7CardCurrentPowerLevel trending upward can flag a failing power supply on that card. e7CardAdminStatus combined with e7CardRowStatus shows whether a slot is enabled and its row lifecycle state, useful for detecting a removed or pending-activation card, and e7CardCleiCode confirms the exact hardware variant for asset tracking.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed card inventory
  • provisioned vs actual card type
  • card admin status
  • card software/firmware version
  • card serial number
  • per-card power level
  • VDSL port group configuration
