What Is HP-ICF-OSPF?
HP-ICF-OSPF is an HP proprietary SNMP MIB that extends the standard OSPF-MIB with HP-specific objects for OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) routing protocol management on HP ProCurve Layer 3 switches. It provides additional configuration and operational-state data for OSPF areas, interfaces, and neighbors beyond what the IETF OSPF-MIB captures, supporting routing protocol administration on the device. For monitoring, this MIB is used to check the software/protocol status of the routing engine, such as OSPF adjacency and interface states, which reflect the health of the device's routing software rather than physical hardware sensors. Because it is explicitly built as an extension, it has a direct and notable dependency on the standard OSPF-MIB (RFC 4750/1850) for its base object definitions and indexing. It is typically deployed on HP ProCurve switches and routers acting as OSPF speakers within an enterprise or campus Layer 3 network.
