Description: The number of Database Description packets sent on the interface. This number is incremented each time an OSPF DD packet is sent out of an OSPF enabled interface.
Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system. The counters can be cleared for any interface using clear ip ospf statistics command.
What is hpicfOspfSentDDPkt?
A running count of OSPF Database Description (DD) packets sent out this interface during adjacency formation, per the DESCRIPTION. Admins check this when troubleshooting a neighbor stuck in the Exchange state, and can reset it with the clear ip ospf statistics command.
