Description: Manages Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) virtual FC interfaces and FIP snooping on H3C converged switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-FCOE-MIB?

HH3C-FCOE-MIB is a vendor-specific H3C MIB for configuring and monitoring Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) on converged switches, modeling Virtual FC (VFC) interfaces that represent VF_Port or VE_Port roles on an FCoE Forwarder (FCF), per the FC-BB-5 specification, along with FIP snooping. It exposes global FCoE configuration such as the FC-MAP value, dynamic VFC creation policy, default FCF priority, and discovery advertisement timeout (DA_TOV), plus per-VLAN FCoE state showing which VLANs carry FCoE traffic and their fabric association. This MIB is used to monitor the software/configuration status of the converged-network fabric, letting administrators confirm which VLANs are operationally enabled for FCoE and whether dynamically created VFC interfaces match expectations, since a misconfigured FC-MAP or disabled VLAN would break FCoE connectivity between an FCF and its FCoE nodes. It explicitly builds on the FC-BB-5 FCoE specification for its terminology and interface model. It is typically deployed on H3C data-center convergence switches supporting unified LAN/SAN Ethernet fabrics. Engineers can download the HH3C-FCOE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-FCOE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C (HPE) data center switches (FCoE)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would check hh3cFCoECfgTable/hh3cFCoECfgEntry for hh3cFCoECfgFcmap and hh3cFCoECfgDefaultFCFPriority to confirm the fabric's FC-MAP addressing and this switch's FCF election priority are set consistently across the fabric. The hh3cFCoECfgDynamicVfcCreation and hh3cFCoECfgAddressingMode objects reveal whether VFC interfaces are being created automatically upon FIP FLOGI and what addressing scheme is used. hh3cFCoEVLANTable/hh3cFCoEVLANEntry, indexed by hh3cFCoEVLANIndex and linked to hh3cFCoEFabricIndex, exposes hh3cFCoEVLANOperState to confirm a given VLAN is operationally up for FCoE traffic. An FCoE VLAN unexpectedly showing a down operational state would explain why FCoE initiators on that VLAN can no longer log into the fabric.

What Can Be Monitored

  • FC-MAP configuration
  • dynamic VFC interface creation
  • FCF priority
  • FCoE VLAN operational state
  • discovery advertisement timeout
