Category: Domain: Storage, Fibre Channel and Storage, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages FCoE operational modes (FCF, ENode, FIP snooping bridge) on H3C converged network switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB?

HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB configures and monitors the operational mode of Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) features — such as FCF (FCoE Forwarder), ENode, or FIP snooping bridge — on H3C converged/data-center switches. It exposes a small set of scalar objects for the configured FCoE mode and the result/status of the last mode-change operation. Monitoring here is a software/configuration-status check: confirming which FCoE role a switch is currently operating in and whether the last mode change succeeded, since a failed or unexpected mode switch would break FCoE fabric connectivity. It depends on the underlying FCoE/FIP standards (T11 FC-BB-5) and typically works alongside other H3C FC MIBs (e.g., FLOGI, FDMI) in the same fabric. It is deployed on H3C converged network switches in data centers running unified Ethernet/FC (FCoE) fabrics, where HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB SNMP monitoring confirms the switch's current FCoE mode and last mode-change status.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C FCoE-capable converged switches

Monitoring Examples

hh3cFcoeModeCfgMode reports the currently configured FCoE role (e.g., FCF or FIP snooping bridge) on the switch, and hh3cFcoeModeCfgLastResult indicates whether the most recent mode-change request succeeded or failed. An admin would poll these after a configuration change to confirm the switch actually transitioned to the intended FCoE mode before troubleshooting fabric login issues.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured FCoE operating mode
  • last mode-change result/status
