Description: HH3C extension MIB for VRRP providing vendor-specific Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol enhancements.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-VRRP-EXT-MIB?

HH3C-VRRP-EXT-MIB is an H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) vendor extension to the standard VRRP-MIB that adds interface-tracking support to Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol on H3C routers and switches. Its single table, hh3cVrrpExtTable, is indexed by ifIndex, vrrpOperVrId, and hh3cVrrpExtTrackInterface, and lets an operator associate a tracked interface with a given VRRP virtual router instance; hh3cVrrpExtPriorityReduce specifies how much the virtual router's priority is lowered (or raised back) when the tracked interface goes down (or comes back up), and hh3cVrrpExtRowStatus manages creation/deletion of these tracking associations. This directly supports VRRP failover correctness: without interface tracking, a VRRP master could remain master even after losing its uplink, causing traffic black-holing, so monitoring this table's configured priority-reduce values and row status confirms tracking is properly configured. It depends on the base VRRP-MIB (for vrrpOperVrId) and IF-MIB (for ifIndex), and is deployed on H3C routers/switches running VRRP for gateway redundancy. Network engineers configuring VRRP failover on H3C gear reference the HH3C-VRRP-EXT-MIB MIB to understand these tracking objects.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-VRRP-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) routers and switches running VRRP

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cVrrpExtTable to confirm hh3cVrrpExtRowStatus is active and hh3cVrrpExtPriorityReduce is set appropriately for the uplink interface tracked by a given VRRP instance; a missing or inactive tracking entry would mean the VRRP master won't fail over even if its uplink drops.

What Can Be Monitored

  • VRRP interface-tracking association table
  • configured priority-reduction value per tracked interface
  • tracking entry row status (active/inactive)
